Privileged environment

Since 1981 we have been outstanding hosts in our area: we are happy to give advice and recommendations on where and how to go, what to see, and what to eat in Ripoll, El Ripollès, the Girona Pyrenees, the Costa Brava, and even Barcelona.

We welcome people of different nationalities and origins, interested in getting to know the local particularities. There are also those who decide to stay in Ripoll because of its history as the ‘Cradle of Catalonia’, making great tours of the area, having the hotel as a starting point and reference point.

Whether your visit is for culture, leisure, nature or sport, we will be happy to provide information, and maybe tell you a secret or two.

Welcome to La Trobada!

NATURAL PARK OF THE CAPÇALERES DEL TER AND FRESER RIVERS

During your stay in El Ripollès, we recommend you get lost in this natural park, declared in 2015 and covering an area of 14,500 ha. It is a clear example of the high Pyrenean mountains that descend towards the Mediterranean.

Romanesque

The Portalada of the Ripoll Monastery, a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status, is one of the most interesting Romanesque sites in Ripollès.

From La Trobada Hotel Boutique, you can also visit a number of Romanesque churches, including the Palau de la Abadia, in Sant Joan de les Abadesses; the church of Sant Jaume, in Queralbs; the monastery of Sant Pere, in Camprodon; Santa Cecília, in Molló; and the church of Santa Magdalena, in Pardines.

Vía Verde Ruta del Hierro (Iron Route Greenway)

VIA VERDE ROUTE OF THE IRON ROUTE. The Ripoll Greenway starts in the same street as La Trobada Hotel Boutique. It takes the name of ‘The Iron and Coal Route’, in allusion to the important tradition of the forge in Baix Ripollès and the extraction of coal from the mines of Ogassa – it follows the route that the train used to take in the past. The 12 km of track have made it an ideal and very accessible route to enjoy walking or cycling, and to remind us of an industrial past of which we are heirs today.

Road cycling

La Trobada Hotel Boutique is an ideal base camp for road cycling enthusiasts. We regularly host professional cycling teams during their participation in the Tour of Catalonia, as well as many clients who visit us individually and in groups. Thanks to our central location, they can tackle the ascent to Vallter 2000, El Coll de Merolla, El Coll de La Creueta (one of the best mountain passes in Catalonia) or El Coll de Canes.

Mountain biking

The surroundings of La Trobada Hotel Boutique are mountainous, with a myriad of ancient paths and trails that allowed the passage between villages, neighbourhoods and farmhouses, favouring the livestock trade and the primary sector. Today, these paths and tracks, many of which are still unpaved, form a perfect network for mountain biking.

With the advent of motorised mountain bikes, this form of cycling – previously reserved only for the most highly trained people – has become accessible to the general public.

Cycle tourism

All those who make long journeys by bicycle, who carry everything they take with them in their saddlebags, will find La Trobada Hotel Boutique an ideal place to stop off. We have suitable spaces for washing and drying clothes, as well as for storing bicycles.

Discover the Gorges and Rivers

The topography and orography of Ripollès gives rise to numerous waterfalls and pools. At La Trobada Hotel Boutique we love rivers and pools, and we will tell you where to go according to your preferences. We must highlight ‘Molins de Vilardell’, in Ripoll; ‘Els 7 Gorgs’, in Campdevànol; ‘El Gorg de Malatosca’, in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, among many other perfect places to admire the beauty of nature.

For guests interested in visiting these areas, we recommend that you do not bathe, as this action affects the natural dynamics of these ecosystems. Before you go, please inform us about the regulations of the territory, so that we can all take care of our environment!

Activities for young children

For the youngest members of the family, our spacious living room at La Trobada Hotel Boutique has a play area where they can run around, read, draw… even do their weekend homework! Our environment is also a good setting for activities with the little ones: you can go on simple excursions, play geocaching games, visit the Molló Animal Park or go on the Nuria rack railway. Ripoll also offers easy access to the rivers, which is very popular with children.

Hiking

From easy and accessible excursions of between 8 and 10km, such as climbing Sant Bartomeu, Sant Roc, El Catllar or Sant Antoni, in Ripoll, to the ascent of Taga, Puigmal, Costabona, Balandrau, Gra de Fajol or Bastiments. Thanks to our exclusive location in the centre of the Ripollès region, you can choose different summits according to your preferences!

Road / Trail / Motocross bikes

La Trobada Hotel Boutique is a perfect place to stop over during a long journey, or to be the base for a few days of routes through Catalonia and Andorra. Many clients stay at La Trobada Hotel Boutique individually or in groups, and make different routes arriving in Andorra, towards the Costa Brava, passing through Molló and arriving in France.

Festivals, concerts and fairs

Various festivals, concerts and fairs are held all around us. Highlights include the Inspira Festival, the Fira de les 40hores, the local festivals in Ripoll and all the villages in the Ripollès region, and the specialised cheese, truffle, pumpkin and honey fairs.

Also famous are the Tria de Mulats de Espinavell and the Ripoll Medieval Market. La Trobada Hotel Boutique will inform you about all the events and give you all the information you need.
