Although it may seem curious to you, the history of La Trobada does not begin with a hotel, but with a restaurant. In 1981, my grandparents -Jaume and Assumpció- and my mother -Mercè- with the aim of selling the produce from the family farms, built the Restaurant La Trobada. The restaurant became a place where customers could enjoy the gastronomy of our territory.

My grandfather was an entrepreneur, and he always wanted more. Due to the success of the restaurant, and the number of people who visited us, in 1985 he decided to build the first hotel building: La Trobada Hotel -today, the building is known as La Trobada Hotel Boutique-. My family had experience in the restaurant business, but they had to learn about hotel management, and there was no lack of desire to improve and make guests feel at home!

In 2020, during the pandemic, we had to stop. Faced with an unfavourable situation, we questioned where we wanted to go. We couldn’t receive guests, and the business came to a standstill. It was at that moment that we took a risk and did the renovation of La Trobada Hotel Boutique. It was like our rebirth! We created five themed suites based on five elements of Ripoll’s history, culture and environment: Natura (Nature), Aigua (Water), Ferro (Iron), Fusta (Wood) and Piedra (Stone). For us they have a very special meaning, as they are our tribute to our land.

Today, the hotel is managed by the third generation of my family. The building has been modified according to the needs of the guests and trends, but there is one element that remains latent in La Trobada: the essence of family.
